1740 Broadway

Designed by the same architects as the Empire State Building - Shreve, Lamb and Harmon - 1740 Broadway stands at 26 stately stories between West 55th and 56th Streets on Broadway.

Boasting nearly 600,000 square feet of commercial office space, 1740 Broadway’s design actually mimics the Empire State Building’s but at quarter of the size. In 2008, Vornado Realty Trust earned a Silver rating for the building under the LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance rating system. The building scored 38 out of a possible 92 points: 10/30 in Energy & Atmosphere; 4/14 in Materials and Resources; 6/19 in Indoor Environmental Quality; 7/12 in Sustainable Sites; 5/10 in Water Efficiency; and 6/7 in Innovation in Operations.

An Energy Information Portal (EIP) – which is standard across Vornado’s Class A Manhattan properties – also provides tenants with real-time monitoring of their energy consumption in both graph and tabular format. And 1740 Broadway has  earned an Energy Star Award with a score of 83 (performing in the top 17 percent of other similar commercial office buildings in terms of energy efficiency). Notable tenants include Victoria’s Secret.
